General Notes

The idea here is to maximize total destructive power for a multiplayer support character, both melee and magic. You get 19 effective sorcerer levels, +2 Natural AC, 14 BAB (instead of 10 for a pure sorcerer or 9 for a Sorc 19/Pale Master 1), but lose one 9th level spell and a feat. Spells are chosen for buffing power, damage without a save (party friendly where possible) and instant kills.

Note that the Eldritch Knight requirements in the manual are WRONG. The actual requirements are Weapon Proficiency: Martial and 3rd level Arcane spells.

Variation: go Sorcerer 10/Eldritch Knight 10. This gets you 2 less HP and 2 less AC, but +1 BAB. Another variation: go Sorcerer 8/Fighter 2/Eldritch Knight 10. This costs you 9th level spells completely, the 2 AC from Pale Master and the Heal skill, but gets you up to 16 BAB and 3 attacks per round.


Racial Selection

Either Human or Drow. Since this is for multiplayer insertion, XP penalty doesn't matter. Human gets you an additional HP/level and an extra feat. Drow gets you spell resistance, +1 AC, 1 less HP/level, and +1 spell DCs/bonus spells. Drow is recommended.

Either increase Charisma at every opportunity (to maximize spell DCs for spells allowing saves, and there will be a number of them), or (if Drow) increase Charisma to 20 (for 9th level spells and DC), and increase Str after that.


Skills

  • Bluff: 5 (1st and 2nd level points only)
  • Concentration
  • Craft Alchemy: 8 (+3 from base Int, +2 Heroism, +4 from Ring of Clear Thought +8 gets you all you need at L18, less with gloves of crafting)
  • Heal: 10 (taken at L7 with Pale Master, needs 5 points stored up from L6)
  • Lore
  • Spellcraft


Feats

  • Background: Natural Leader (Works best paired with physical fighters)
  • Level 1: Spellcasting Prodigy
  • Level 3: Toughness
  • Level 6: Weapon Proficiency: Martial
  • Level 9: Empower Spell
  • Level 12: Maximize Spell
  • Level 15: Weapon Focus: Greatsword
  • Level 18: Improved Critical: Greatsword

(You might consider Spell Penetration or Spell Focus as well.)
